Scope and content
This series, SMa/1, consists of poetry written by Sarah Maguire.
The material has been sorted into nine subseries based on separate poetry collections, or distinct type of material:
SMa/1/1: Notebooks
SMa/1/2: New Chatto Poets & Spilt Milk [published by Chatto & Windus in 1989, and Secker & Warburg in 1991, respectively]
SMa/1/3: The Invisible Mender [published by Jonathan Cape in 1997]
SMa/1/4: The Florist's at Midnight [published by Jonathan Cape in 2001]
SMa/1/5: The Pomegranates of Kandahar [published by Chatto & Windus in 2007]
SMa/1/6: Almost the Equinox [selected poems published by Chatto & Windus in 2015]
SMa/1/7: Uncollected (or "unpublished")
SMa/1/8: Submissions and Applications
SMa/1/9: Translated Poems
Material relating to Flora Poetica, the anthology selected, edited and with an introduction by Sarah Maguire, can be found in Third Party Works (SMa/4).
Relevant material, such as research and notes for poems, may be found in Diaries and Notebooks (SMa/7).
When poetry is accompanied with correspondence, it is filed here; however, related material, such as editorial comments and cover designs, will be found in Correspondence (SMa/11).
Press cuttings which consist only of a poem or poems by Sarah Maguire are filed here, but press cuttings with further associated material are filed in Reviews and Press Cuttings (SMa/12).
