W.G. Sebald is the unseen narrator in this short film. Excerpt from Maya Jaggi's interview with Sebald on the occasion of St Jerome's Day, recorded live at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, 24/09/2001.

Sebald talks about the photograph as evidence; the photograph album as being a central part of family history and memory; and the use of photography in his books, in particular the practice of editing photographs.
