They had tea with the Lord Mayor, some of them formally conversed with the Councillors. They were free to wander around the City Hall and ‘wave to the crowds’ and ‘sit in the throne’ in the Council Chamber.
‘Scientists are engaged almost full-time in lecture and lab. Work, in contrast to the Anglo-Historians who have far less time in lectures and correspondingly more reading to do.’
‘Mrs Rigby has her full complement of three students, “Tufty” Hoskin and Mike Gibson, English Studies and Biologist respectively.’
Lectures started at 09:00 and they rise at 07:30.
Jane Buxton was speaking at the Meeting House. They had been to the Odeon to see 'From Russia with Love'.
They had elected a temporary Students Council ‘amidst a shambles of official procedure, because the acoustics of the Assembly Hall are so terrible.’
A questionnaire had been received from Paris, UCCA.
