Letters UEA/SMI/1/1-36 were written while Adrian resided at a digs at 398A Unthank Road.
There is no ‘dressing for dinner’. ‘It is all quite casual and meals are obtained by self-service, two or three courses with coffee. However tea so far consists literally of a cup of tea at 4.15.’
Adrian had met Katy Howard (ex FSSW) who had a digs in the next street.
‘The place is unfortunately buzzing with young organisers … but there is a considerable group of more normal individuals – including an Indian girl from Kenya.’
Adrian had yet to meet his dig mate - T.C. Hoskin from Truro.
