Scope and content
The Tree Foundation was set up in 1978 to complement the work of the Tree Council, specifically by raising funds to support the work of the Council. The Tree Council had been established in 1974 and is perhaps best known for the annual National Tree Week that it organises. The Tree Foundation was short-lived, being wound up in 1984. SZ became a trustee in 1978 and was an assiduous fund-raiser.
