Scope and content

SZ confirms that there is no legal authority for carrying out autopsies on air-raid casualties. The matter has been raised with the Home Office, but no decision has been reached. Relatives can give authority, and voluntary hospitals can conduct autopsies but it is an issue which needs clarification. SZ asks Hewer if any of the victims had external injuries.
