Drum camera records were obtained during the explosion of two liquid-filled 2,000 lb. bombs. The records showed an almost complete absence of flame at distances greater than about 20 feet, but the movement of numerous fragments was recorded. The velocities of the leading fragments showed a marked lack of symmetry between the two sides of each bomb and some difference between the two bombs. The velocities tended to be lower than corresponding figures for similar bombs filled with solid explosive. A table of the fragment velocities is included.
