Fulton describes a pulmonary infection he obtained after he sniffed a coccoid culture of a fungus disease endemic in San Joaquin Valley. A full description of the ailment, the collapse of Fulton's lung, and the treatment, is included. Fulton comments on SZ's paper on the effects of blast which was to appear in the 'Lancet'. Field experiences at sea are mentioned, and the injuries suffered due to blast.
