Wilson, Harold, 1916-
United Kingdom -- Armed forces -- Yemen -- Aden
Comments on the White Paper on defence due for publication on 22/2/66. Pincher refers to the mistakes of Wilson's Government which was "blinded by over-confidence born of 13 years of Cloud Cuckoo Land planning without acess to the facts." The Government's slashing of the defence bill is examined. Expected cuts were not able to be put into practice and this resulted in the cancellation of the aircraft carrier programme, reduction in the order for F-111 bombers, and the military presence in Aden was to be abandoned.
