Contains two items being copies of a SHAEF G-2 [Intelligence Division] paper Axis Oil Position, summarising a report by the Ministry of Economic Warfare and the latest report of the "Hartley Committee" [Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee of the War Cabinet], both of which are appended. SHAEF G-2 had calculated that the elimination of two thirds of German oil output would result in the collapse of German opposition to the allied advance and assesses the capacity of allied air forces to effect such a reduction in output.
