The report was distributed to the C-in-C abd Deputy C-in-C, S.A.S.O., Director of Operations, Deputy Chief of Operations-Plans, and Chief Intelligence Officer, AEAF, Col. McKinnon, and Mr Brant [of the Railway Research Service]. [SZ/AEAF/1/11/20] is a typescript draft with MS amendments; [SZ/AEAF/1/11/21-26] are roneoed copies as circulated by AEAF. [SZ/AEAF/1/11/21-22] have three appendices attached which are copies of appendices 9,10, and 11 of an Appreciation of the results, up to D+30 of the Overlord "Transportation Plan", 25/7/44, by SZ [see also sub series SZ/AEAF/1/13]. An MS distribution list is attached to [SZ/AEAF/1/11/21].

The report covers rail traffic movement in areas subject to air attack on transportation in support of Operation Overlord during the period from the last week of May 1944 to D-Day plus 30, and is by way of an interim study pending publication of the afore mentioned "Appreciation" issued "in view of the renewal of discussions about the length of time it has taken the enemy to re-establish traffic through rail centres and across bridges".
