Scope and content
This series consists of research undertaken by Sarah Maguire. The material consists of newspaper and journal cuttings and printed online articles.
Material has been separated into subseries based on topic of research:
SMa/8/1 (Literature): newspaper cuttings and printed online articles relating to all literature, excluding poetry, and poets/writers that are correspondents in SMa/11 or that have more than one item of research.
SMa/8/2 (Other): material organised into files by topic, left as found in Sarah Maguire's files (i.e. not sorted chronologically or numbered).
SMa/8/3 (People): newspaper cuttings and printed online articles relating to individuals or organisations that have more than one item or are correspondents in SMa/11. Material relating to people with fewer than two items, or who are not correspondents in SMa/11, is found in 'Literature' or another relevant sub-series.
SMa/8/4 (Poems): journal cuttings and printed online pages of poems. Photocopied poetry and poems gathered for anthologies is filed in SMa/4. The dates of the poems correspond to the date published, or, if known, the date printed/found by Sarah Maguire.
SMa/8/5 (Poetry-Articles): newspaper cuttings and printed online articles relating to poetry. Cuttings that consist only of poems are filed in 'Poems'.
SMa/8/6 (Politics): newspaper cuttings and printed online articles relating to politics, world politics, crime and law. Metadata includes dating written in pen by Sarah Maguire.
Photocopies of third-party poems and sections of third-party books will be filed in SMa/4 (Third-Party Works). These will be filed with material relating to the Flora anthology or other projects when there is an obvious link, such as reviews.
Cuttings of third-party poems and articles are filed here (SMa/8). These do not obviously relate to projects (anthologies or reviews) but were of interest to Sarah Maguire. Cross-referencing will be required as topics do overlap.
