Scope and content
The F.I.R.A. was established in 1961 as a successor to the Research and Information Committee of the Furniture Development Council. It took over research and information services, and some statistical and costing work, from the F.D.C. The two bodies were closely linked, sharing premises at Stevenage and personnel. From 1963 to 1982 when the F.D.C. was wound up, the two bodies had the same director. Contains F.I.R.A. reports and publications, general correspondence, and press cuttings.
