PC writes about concerns relating to her younger sister [Jennifer], whom she refers to as ‘Small’.
Her ornamental hippopotamus ‘Horace’ had been damaged. She describes her and Hanna’s room.
[Charles] Macnamara had wrapped Wolf’s [Wolfgang Hildesheimer’s] design. The photos from Nyon which her father had returned to her had failed completely as the film was a dud. PC discusses the purchase of watches, nylons and tea-sets.
Bunny [Beryl Beswick] had had a Halloween themed birthday party. Menu card of the Grand Hotel Nuremberg included in letter dated 15/11/1947.
PC describes Wolf[gang Hildesheimer] as’ a brilliant artist and writer.’ She encloses a textile design of his (not found with this letter). Several of his designs had been taken by the Courtaulds [Courtauld Institute] and he had cooperated with Norman Hartnell. She asks [her father, an engineer] what he thought of Wolf’s plans for asbestos design.
She asks her parents to buy her a copy of ‘The Writer’; she has converted two friends to the ‘Tampax faith.’ She will definitely be able to spend Christmas day with her parents.
