MS. 8 pages. 2 leaves. With envelope, 21/10/1947, marked by PC as no. 6. Includes 9 photographs.
PC has lost Mrs M’s [Mrs Munt, as in letter dated 7/11/1947] address and she asks for it to be re-sent. She writes about the gifts of [tumbler] glasses and chocolates she has just sent. She thanks her parents for sending the Spanish book she’d requested.
She includes a sentence from one of the translators relating to toileting and ‘exigency’.
PC and (Bunny) Beryl Beswick had been working with almost all of the French translations.
They had been ice skating and now had an acre on which to skate.
A new member of staff (an Englishwoman) would be joining their office.
PC and Hanna are now sharing a room. She discusses buying a fleece blanket and tweed outfit and asks whether a film had been despatched. PC asks for her photographs to be kept with each letter.
She describes Charles Macnamara and Hans’s skating. She is writing the letter in the Special Services library as they wait for the ice to be swept, re-hosed and frozen for the evening session.
She asks for a new cheque book for when she gets home, and Nancy should be sending her parents £2 for her account. She also asks for them to send her the back copies of ‘Courier’ [magazine].
Peter [Lawrence] had his birthday party the night before.
Includes 9 photographs. They show the Zugspitze; the back of the hotel in Nyon and the little alley opposite the hotel. The photos are numbered 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,1,2 (they may have been muddled over time). They all contain descriptions on verso.
