Letter, 16/2/2011. TS. With envelope. John writes of his family background, his Ukrainian father having escaped to Austria when the Germans invaded. He describes how he met Pearl Buck when he was in high school, and how through her he met Oscar Hammerstein and Stephen Sondheim. John has corresponded with many authors including Arthur C. Clarke, Terry Goodkind, Stephen Donaldson, Isaac Asimov, and Leon Uris.
John worked for the IMF as an assistant to the Managing Director and travelled to less attractive places like Bosnia, Tajikistan and Sierra Leone.
He includes book-plates for LC to sign.
