The contents of this sub-collection were copied, from originals held by Sir Arthur South, by Dr Michael Sanderson while researching the history of UEA.
Contains photocopies of correspondence, memoranda, minutes and news-cuttings, 1958-1960. Correspondence is chiefly with Bernard Storey and Gordon Tilsley, successive Town Clerks of Norwich at the time.
Sir Arthur South was the Chairman of Norfolk Education Committee when steps were initiated in 1958 to campaign for the creation of a new university to be situated in East Anglia. He chaired preliminary meetings prior to the establishment of the Promotion Committee.
