Scope and content
David had his car’s log book, a gallon of oil, some books and his keys stolen. The police got the man with the keys on him ‘however David couldn’t have his keys as they constitute evidence.’

More car trouble: Carol’s car “Smudgey” wouldn’t go and they were checking plugs and cleaning points at 4am. Once at Jillie’s, David was contacted by the police who had spent the evening waiting for him at no 96 [Newmarket Rd] and then heard from Martin Pick where he was.

The following night in David’s car they ran out of petrol on the ring-road and “DPJ” brought them 1/2 a gallon of petrol on a scooter at 2am.

Adrian had booked driving lessons.

Adrian is pleased that his family had ‘all liked Helen’. Helen was the University Challenge reserve; Treasurer to the Dramatic Soc.; Secretary to the Student’s Council; Adrian’s Deputy Returning Officer for the Vice Presidential election; NUS Secretary; and Joint Treasurer to the Rag Committee.

David was President of the Film Society and Adrian his Treasurer.
