Describes the Students Council elections where Adrian was kept off by a single vote.
Adrian and fellow students had been canvassing for the local council. The Librarian’s wife was the Labour candidate in the local Tory held ward.
They had been to the New University’s Festival at Keele. ‘It was the most fantastic weekend ever (although I didn’t take much to Keele and its students having been lumbered with a group of neofascists/rockers) York & Sussex people were ok. Friday evening was a terrific jazz concert by Michael Garrick (incl. Joe Harriot on sax!)’
There was further music at the festival, a speech by former Minister of Education - Edward Boyle, and a production by UEA students - Age of Scandal.
