Scope and content
Adrian gives his prelim examination results. ‘In order to pass the Chemistry and Maths/Physics papers I obviously pruned my Zoo/Bot revision too drastically. Thus I failed the Biology paper – and the Maths/Physics into the bargain. However I was one of the few who passed Chemistry – and over 50% failed the Biology paper! I should not have failed the Maths/Physics, the questions were so simple and yet I managed to misinterpret them eg. a physics question in which a mouse was west of a hole and a weasel south of it – my weasel was south of the hole instead of south of the mouse and consequently the whole of the question was wasted.’

‘Overall 7 of the 26 Biologists passed all subjects while only 10 of the 50 Arts people failed any!’

The arts students were preparing for the forthcoming rag, on “Arabs and things”.

Mike Ford was replacing Mike Gibson in their digs.

Adrian had been to see films at the University Film Club.
