The contents relate chiefly to a period of student unrest at UEA in 1971 and in particular to the sit-in staged in protest at the University's decision to send down an American student, W.G. (Bill) Hutchison. The contents include copies of student publications, one of which is variously referred to as The Incredible Magazine or the Surprising Magazine and which includes an early article by Ian McEwan entitled 'Cocker at the Theatre'; posters for various demonstrations; and copies of various short-lived "underground" publications, among which are the first issues of 'Norwich Dope News' and 'Canopener'.
Jeremy Schonfield was an undergraduate at UEA, 1970-1974. He donated this sub-collection to UEA in March 1989.
