Scope and content
Many of the letters relate to the making of a more environmentally friendly campus. Others concern student loans and campaigns against student loans.

Opposition to the developments on the west of the campus occupied by the Research Area of BIO is raised in a letter dated 24/7/90. It was thought that a programme of research into rabbit breeding as well as the rabbits’ habitat would be destroyed.

One letter refers to a flea infestation UEA/GRAY/1/2/4/129, another letter refers to the breach of a lease if hot dogs are sold outside the Pub UEA/GRAY/1/2/4/26.

Other topics include prices in SU outlets, the sale of scarves, a meeting to discuss the salary of the SUS General Manager, safety regulations regarding the walls along Norfolk and Suffolk Terrace walkways, bus services, staff donations to Rag charities, SU representation at the V-C’s welcoming address, the allocation of a room to mature students in Union House, SU Trustees, the relationship between ENTS and the SUS Bars, housing benefits, assistance to a Students’ Union in Czechoslovakia, and resignations and appointments of SU Officers.
