Brown thanks Stewart for giving him the opportunity of reading through Douglas' revised paper on diseases of the alimentary tract. He adds that the investigation does not lead to any convincing conclusions, and no explanation is forthcoming as to why ulcers increased to a marked extent in the first half of 1944.
