Scope and content
This sub-series covers all manner of effects of blast on the physical and psychological aspects of casualties. Tables of data reflect findings of the field casualty survey. The wounding power of all types of bombs is investigated, this incorporates the evaluation of distance tables and standard casualty rates. The risk to people on different floors in dwellings is examined, burial and trapping data are considered here as a measure of risk. Draft and write-ups of the survey are included. Surveys on attendances at public service points, on air raid shelter occupancy, and on evacuations, provide data for the measure of morale. Also contains large number of casualty report forms for individuals injured in air raids detailing their injuries and treatment, and correspondence with hospitals.
