Refers to Douglas' request about bread consumption in the London area. Stewart cannot supply the information Douglas requests and gives an involved account of the reasons. This briefly refers to: bakers not showing their returns of production; the temporary subsidy provided to bakers; the increase in the costs of flour; out of date production records, and badly filled in claim forms. Stewart does however supply three sheets of figures [SZ/OEMU/59/44/6-8, attached] which show the amount of bread which is produced in the London Food Division. He discusses the data provided.
