Notes from researcher Chelsea Dent: T. B. Holmes was Thomas Barton Holmes the son of John Holmes who was a currier/tanner and had a business called John Holmes & Sons which was a tannery off Anlaby Road in Hull. The school was opened in 1877 on South Parade. It was open to boys, girls and infants until it was damaged in an air-raid in 1941, it remained as an infants school until its closure in 1962.
