Leg -- Amputation
Zuckerman, Solly, 1904-1993 recipient
Refers to an inconclusive post-mortem on a blast victim. There was no evidence of pulmonary haemorrhage. There have been some interesting shock cases, however, including one case in which the amputation of a boy's leg resulted in an end of the shock symptoms. The conclusion was that it had been tissue shock which would have killed him without amputation.
