The Research Station is involved in the study of the fragmentation process and of splinter velocities from model-scale bombs. The methods involve the use of photographic equipment to examine fragments and their effects. The designs of the model bomb is described in detail. Drawings of the bomb-casing components, the complete assembly of the bomb, and the ends of bomb-casings and fragments after firing, are included.
