The velocities of the flame front in the explosion of German 1,000 lb. and 2,000 lb. mines, and 250 kg., 500 kg, and 1,000 kg. bombs are recorded. The measurements for the two mines were found to agree closely, as did the measurements for the various sizes of bombs. The flame velocity at any given distance from a mine was found to be higher than at the same distance from a bomb containing the same weight of explosive. Tables and graphs are included, and photographs of the flame front of a German mine and bomb.
