Comparative tests were made on a 0.75 in. steel plate and on a 3 in. slab of 1 : 2 : 4 concrete using non-rotating, square, mild steel fragments fired from a H.E. fragment gun, and rotating mild steel cylinders fired from a service rifle. "The object was to determine the difference in penetration of the two types of projectile. Measurements of the surface damage showed that, provided the mass and velocity were equal, there was no appreciable difference in the effects produced by the projectiles used in these experiments." A table and graphs are included.
