The laws governing the penetration of spherical steel projectiles into cellulose acetate sheet were determined using steel balls ranging from 3/64 in. to 0.25 in. in diameter fired at normal incidence. A calculation of the thicknesses required to resist bomb-fragments of given mass and velocity is made, assuming the law of resistance already mentioned. Graphs and tables are included. The second copy consists of five leaves since some graphs are reduced in size.
