The "savelyfe" body shield consisted of sections of fibre-board and steel, and was manufactured by Savelyfe Body Shields. The shield weighed 7.34 lb.. The perforation velocity of one thickness of shield attacked by steel balls is given. An increase in thickness is expected to give greater protection, estimates are given. A photograph of the shield is included.

The linen-reinforced thermoplastic material measured 4 mm.. The minimum perforation velocity was found to be much lower than the minimum perforation velocity of other, thermoplastic materials tested. Tables are included.

Report to the Ministry of Home Security.
