Explosions -- Physiological effect
McSwiney, Bryan Austin, recipient
Discusses the opinions that suction waves of blasts through the trachea cause injuries in man and animals. Experiments performed by Greenfield at Shoeburyness are mentioned. SZ argues that the pressure wave which hits the body wall is responsible for the injuries. Reference is also made to the post mortem studies of 30 children in Barcelona who suffered ruptured lungs.
