Palmer describes the silver chalice he is wanting, a sketch accompanies the letter. He asks whether there is an account of "the railway plan, or Zuckerman's plan" by Arthur S. MacNalty. Colonel J.B. Coates had taken over the Surgeon General's office and wanted to publish Palmer's report the following year.

Palmer requests the return of correspondence and a case history folder relating to the patient Blanche Freye.

SZ's biography is humorously contemplated by Palmer, who wishes to be its unknown author.
