SZ suggests a formal approach should be made by the Advisory Council on Scientific Policy to the War Office to discuss the transfer of the Microbiological Research Establishment.

SZ was surprised that the M.R.E. was doing relatively little work of a military nature. He was considering a proposal to increase the scientific manpower to accommodate increasing defence requirements.
