Scope and content

SZ's letter about giving Watson-Watt access to official papers to write about the origins of radar raises a number of issues. It could be argued that Postan has written the definitive history already; it would set a precedent and would make it difficult ot deny other authors access; and how could giving access to Watson-Watt be justified in the light of denying Rowe access. Trend also feels that the Cabinet papers would be of little use; more likely sources should be with the RAF or Air Ministry.
