SZ realises the difficulties in allowing Watson-Watt access to radar papers but feels that "good could come of the exercise." SZ believes that history does not derive from one source and while Postan may have had access to official papers his conclusions and interpretation may differ from people who were involved in the work. SZ does not have much faith in history "written by people who were outside the events of which they write" and gives the example of Webster and Frankland's work on the strategic air war.
