Marshall writes from Washington, D.C. The authorities there had hoped to sort out [Marshall's posting] amicably. A replacement had been sent [to the United Kingdom]. He describes their interest in the Bombing Survey Unit's activities, and their high opinion of SZ. Marshall asks SZ to write him a testimonial. He sends his regards to A.P.D. Thomson and he was writing to his cousin on Thomson's behalf. Marshall's cousin is Commander W. Hallam Tuck, United States Naval Research.
