Comments on Bird's letter of 7/11/43 [SZ/BSU/5/1/76]. Concerns personnel and administrative issues surrounding the general organisation of the Messina detachment. SZ would attempt to obtain an imprest account for the party. He would also try and get another administrative officer posted to Messina as it "is completely ridiculous that Wise has got to spend so much time on administration". Transport would be forwarded to Bird as soon as it arrived. The weapons carrier could be painted with rings instead of a star to reduce the risk of theft.
