Cutting would be returning to England as he had not recovered from an illness. SZ did not plan to continue the field work, so no request for more Technical Information Officers would be made. Transport had arrived but with no drivers, and in Messina 16 men had to work with only one lorry. SZ expected to finish all the field work within six weeks. He comments on the progress with the reports on the bombing effects.
