Contains 72 items including correspondence concerning arrangements for a visit by Speer to England and, when this did not materialise, for SZ to visit Speer at his home in Germany. The correspondence details Speer’s concerns that his visit would cause political embarrassment. Speer did not think that the Labour Home Secretary, Roy Jenkins, would welcome his visit. Despite Jenkins’ assurances to SZ that there would be no problems, the trip was cancelled. Transcripts of tape recordings of Speer and SZ’s meetings in Heidelberg, and correspondence regarding the exchange of documents and books for proposed joint articles are also included. The meetings discussed the effects of the strategic air war on German industry and transport. Some of the documents in Files SZ/BBSU/60-62 were given to SZ by Speer during these meetings.
