Item
Traffic through rail centres following an attack (for the period from 21/3/44 to 3/4/44), 6/7/44
1944
4 leaves
The paper is a brief summary of the conclusions drawn from "Detailed information on certain military rail movements for the period from 21 March to 3 April inclusive" which had recently become available from "ground sources". The conclusions are to the effect that air attacks on rail centres in support of Operation Overlord had no appreciable effect on levels and rates of through traffic. The paper includes two tables, 'Rail centres attacked from 21/3 to 3/4 inclusive' and ' Rail centre attacks before 21/3', which include attack data, rail traffic data, and additional notes.
Attached is an MS note in SZ's hand commenting on the paper, the arguments in which, are deemed "irrelevant".
