Interference with rail traffic from Germany to France, 11/8/44
1944
2 pp.
Paper sets out ways in which air operations could disrupt the movement of supplies and troop reinforcements from Germany to France: cutting lines and attacking bridges; attacking rail centres in Belgium and Eastern France; or by attacking rail centres in the area of the frontiers between Germany and Belgium and France. The last is the method which Brant favours, and he provides a list of suitable targets. He also suggests complementing these operations with attacks on rail centres further east, well within Germany, and with selective attacks on bridges, also further east "than those detailed in the 'S.H.A.E.F. Third Line of Interdiction".
