Typescript with minor MS corrections. The report draws heavily on a report drawn up by the Director General of SNCF [Monsieur de Besnerais?] prior to his arrest on 9/6/44 on the situation at 1/6/44, supplemented with information from other sources.
The report gives a detailed account of the operations of the French railways during the course of the war. Part I describes circumstances to 1/6/44, Part II describes the situation in May 1944, Part III deals with movements after D. Day and Part IV the situation and movements in July 1944.
Appendix A is a French text, an English translation of which appears in the body of the report with the English title. Comment, dated 11/5/44 of French Railway Source on Air Attacks 27433/VI/P1/1141, 27/7/44 which reports the comments made indirectly to the informant of a 'chef locaux' of SNCF.
Appendix B lists German troop movements, 5/6/44 to 26/6/44 giving their code name, nu,ber of trains per movement, route, and fate.
