Reply to a letter from SZ, 24/8/44 which is absent. Sherrington writes that he would be happy to assist SZ by obtaining data from SNCF personnel on the effects of air attacks on the French Railway System although he does not believe that they could "add very much to the voluminous data which has been forwarded over here [to the Unitd Kingdom]. He expresses the hope that Mr Brant will soon "be available again" to assist in its analysis. The letter indicates that Brant was at the time working at AEAF headquarters (RAF Stanmore). Sherrington also refers to reports that "his good friend" Le Besnerias, Director-General of the SNCF, has been arrested.
