Max Nicholson acknowledges receipt of Jack Pritchard's "version of PEP's origins" and comments on it. Correcting some factual errors he writes that "the National Plan was instigated and published by Gerald Barry but he had nothing to do with preparing it. I did that myself with advice on a few special areas.... The foundation of what later became PEP was envisaged from the outset". Referring to "the Lindsay-Elmhirst-Sieff triangle" he writes that "The man who smuggled KL in was KL" and Jack is "wrong in imputing any part in this to Israel Sieff." He adds that Sieff's and Huxley's memoirs are inaccurate in recording that Sir Basil Blackett was absent from "the Dartington Weekend" [at which Lindsay was appointed PEP's secretary]. He concludes by welcoming the fact that Jack "has resurrected A View on Planning, many less worthwhile documents have had a better fate".
