Pritchard, John Craven, recipient
Ashen returns and comments on a text which he describes as "an uneasy mixture of a personal account of the founding of P.E.P. with a political tract sandwiched in between", with particular reference to the return of Britain to the Gold Standard in 1925 and John Mayhand Keynes' views on this policy; he makes passing reference to [Roy] Harrod's book on Keynes.
He concludes by proposing that "at the next caucus meeting in the sauna" he reads to Jack Pritchard passages from John Stuart Mill's `On Liberty', and signs himself "the chap who dispenses opinion to the people".
