Typescript notes refer to a possible clash between Isokon's long chair and that of [Alvar] Aalto. The meeting agreed that Isokon should take a licence and mark their chairs with Aalto's patent number. For this, Isokon will pay a nominal sum of £1 per year. Mr Faulkner wanted real royalties as it would help persuade Aalto; a licence would help stop competition so Isokon should pay for the benefit and the licence ought to be on the Register and therefore should show a royalty. Two separate documents could be prepared, one for registration and one containing details which would not be public. The costs of a licence could be shared.
