Pritchard, John Craven, recipient
Every has spoken to his partners regarding Pritchard's account. They feel it is too large to be allowed to grow any further and paying half now and half when the patent [for the roaster] is granted would be allowing it to grow. Instead, Gill, Jennings & Every would like three quarters of the fee now and the final quarter on receipt of the notice of acceptance of the patent. Annotated on recto in shorthand.
