Vivien Pixner believes that as the Isobar invited a speaker from the Free Austrian Movement in 1942, they might like to know that a new organisation, the Friends of Austria, has been organised in the area. Supporters include Julian Huxley, Dr C.E.M. Joad, Eleanor Farjeon, and Lt Col Rowbotham. The Friends' first meeting will be addressed by Eva Kolmer of the Free Austrian Movement Executive Committee and the novelist Ernest Raymond, while Claire Born, formerly of the Vienna State Opera, will sing. Pixner asks whether invitation cards can be sent to the Isobar and encloses a leaflet outlining the Friends of Austria's aims [PP/17/6/37].
